I get the following data from the Instagram API, I m trying to get the text property from the caption using the following code:

But I keep getting the TypeError: 'NoneType' object has no attribute '__getitem__' error + UnicodeEncodeError: 'charmap' codec can't encode characters in position 0-5: cha error while printing the unicode strings

You don’t need the intricate tests on wether ‘text’ is present for the post caption.
This code works well with the JSON string you posted:
Furthermore, you could be more defensive and refer to
data.get('data', [])when starting the loop in case Instagram sends you empty JSON.
