I want to make a spinner which content depends on the database, is there a way to do that? Earlier, I read that string value can’t be changed by code so now I’m wondering if there is any other way?

I find ORMLite very useful in working with databases in Android. You could use something like this in your code :

Dao<YourTable, YourTableKeyType> tableDao = DaoManager.createDao(connectionSource,
                    YourTable.class);

List<YourTable> itemsList = tableDao.queryForAll();

tableStr = new String[tableList.size()];
int i = 0;
for (YourTable item : itemsList) {
    tableStr[i++] = item.getNom();
}
spinner = (Spinner) findViewById(R.id.spinner_id);
ArrayAdapter<String> adapter = new ArrayAdapter<String>(this,
    R.layout.spinner_layout, tableStr);
adapter.setDropDownViewResource(R.layout.spinner_dropdown_item);
spinner.setAdapter(adapter);
