    Your HTML syntax is wrong. It should be 

    <body onload="..."> ...

    If you are actually passing a string parameter don’t forget to quote and escape it:

    <body onload="someJSFunction('<%= StringEscapeUtils.escapeJavaScript(someObject.getSomeAttribute()) >')")>
