Question

cant figure it out how to rotate the text so the starting position isn’t somewhere random.
(I dont want to animate it). i just want to specify the starting position.

Have you tried changing the hOffset-parameter according to the documentation?

hOffset The distance along the path to add to the text’s starting
position
