    Use this XPath expression "//*" in this way

    Document doc = ... // the document on which apply XPath
    XPathExpression xp = XPathFactory.newInstance().newXPath().compile("//*");
    NodeList elements = (NodeList) xp.evaluate(doc, XPathConstants.NODESET);
    

    It return to you all the elements at any level.
