    You can declare an independent sample variable in each scope:

    (function() {
    
        var sample = "sample1";
    
        (function() {
    
            // set sample variable 
            var sample = "sample2";

                // set sample variable
               var sample = "sample3";

        }());
    
    console.log(sample); // "sample1"
    }());
