    If you mean an array of String, where each element is one letter, do this:

    String s = "abcderfh";
    String[] letters = s.split("(?<=.)"); // split after every character
    System.out.println(Arrays.toString(letters));
    

    Output:

    [a, b, c, d, e, r, f, h]
