Hi i am going to store data into a local .db in my android application.

I can get this to work and display the data via Toast, but that was a tutorial and now i want to make it display the data to a list activity.

I have been looking at lots of posts and videos as to doing both of them separately but none show how to do it together. I have this code so far…

package database.test;

import android.app.ListActivity;
import android.database.Cursor;
import android.os.Bundle;
import android.widget.ListAdapter;
import android.widget.SimpleCursorAdapter;

public class DatabaseActivity extends ListActivity {
    private ListAdapter mAdapter;
    /** Called when the activity is first created. */
    @Override
    public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState)
    {
        super.onCreate(savedInstanceState);
        setContentView(R.layout.main);

        DBAdapter db = new DBAdapter(this);

        //---get all titles---
        db.open();
        Cursor c = db.getAllTitles();
        if (c.moveToFirst())
        {
            do {
                DisplayTitle(c);
            } while (c.moveToNext());
        }
        db.close();
    }
    public void DisplayTitle(Cursor c)
    {
        String[] columns = new String[] {c.getString(0)};
        int [] names = new int [] {R.id.row_entry};

        mAdapter = new SimpleCursorAdapter(this,R.layout.main,c, columns, names);
        setListAdapter(mAdapter);
    }
}

and this…

package database.test;

import android.content.ContentValues;
import android.content.Context;
import android.database.Cursor;
import android.database.SQLException;
import android.database.sqlite.SQLiteDatabase;
import android.database.sqlite.SQLiteOpenHelper;
import android.util.Log;

    }

    //---deletes a particular title---

    }

    //---retrieves a particular title---
    public Cursor getTitle(long rowId) throws SQLException
    {
        Cursor mCursor =
                db.query(true, DATABASE_TABLE, new String[] {
                        KEY_ROWID,
                        KEY_ISBN,
                        KEY_TITLE,
                        KEY_PUBLISHER
                        },

        if (mCursor != null) {
            mCursor.moveToFirst();
        }
        return mCursor;
    }

    //---updates a title---
    public boolean updateTitle(long rowId, String isbn,
    String title, String publisher)
    {
        ContentValues args = new ContentValues();
        args.put(KEY_ISBN, isbn);
        args.put(KEY_TITLE, title);
        args.put(KEY_PUBLISHER, publisher);
        return db.update(DATABASE_TABLE, args,
                         KEY_ROWID + "=" + rowId, null) > 0;
    }
}

I would hope to get this to work and then show other people, as i am creating an application for a uni project.

Thanks for any help
