    Explanation in the comments:

    $Var = "HvacSystem8000Series";
    $Var =~ s/(?<=[[:lower:]])   # Low case before,
              (?=[[:upper:]0-9]) # upper case or digit after;
              |                  # OR
              (?<=[0-9])         # digit before,
              (?=[[:upper:]])    # upper case after?
              /\ /xg;            # Replace with a space.
