How can I throw an exception from an enum constructor? eg:

public enum RLoader {
  INSTANCE;
  private RLoader() throws IOException {
   ....
  }
}

produces the error

    Because instances are created in a static initializer, throw an ExceptionInInitializerError instead.

    throw new ExceptionInInitializerError();
