    You should override Notification method of your component; something like that:

    type
      TMyComponent = class(TComponent)
    //..
      protected
        procedure Notification(AComponent: TComponent;
          Operation: TOperation); override;
      end;
    
    
    procedure TMyComponent.Notification(AComponent: TComponent;
      Operation: TOperation);
    begin
      inherited Notification(AComponent, Operation);
