    You can use conditional setAction:

    If single touch then call selectorSingleTouch.

    else call selectorDoubleTouch.

    //this is not compiler checked… atleast you may get some idea from this

    UITapGestureRecognizer *singleTap=[[UITapGestureRecognizer alloc] initWithTarget: self action:@selector(doSingleTap)];
    singleTap.numberOfTapsRequired = 1;
