    RewriteEngine on
    RewriteRule ^favicon\.ico$ /images/favicon.ico [L]
    

    Edit    And for favicon.ico with arbitrary path segment depth:

    RewriteCond $0 !=images/favicon.ico
    RewriteRule ^([^/]+/)*favicon\.ico$ /images/favicon.ico [L]
