    You can utilize the onchange event for the select element, and code a form submit:

    <form method="post">
        <select name="myselect" onchange="this.form.submit();">
            <option>blue</option>
            <option>red</option>
        </select>
    </form>
    

    That will automatically submit the form when the value is changed.
