    This is to activate wifi

    WifiManager wifiManager = (WifiManager)getSystemService(Context.WIFI_SERVICE);
            wifiManager.setWifiEnabled(true);

    Add this permission:

    <uses-permission android:name="android.permission.CHANGE_WIFI_STATE"/>
