    You want the popoverArrowDirection property of your UIPopoverController. Set it to one of the UIPopoverArrowDirection values.

    You can also specify the allowed direction in either of these functions for showing the popover:

    presentPopoverFromRect:inView:permittedArrowDirections:animated:
    presentPopoverFromBarButtonItem:permittedArrowDirections:animated:
