    If you want your text to truncate at 20 characters you have to do it manually.

    NSString *truncatedName = name;
    if ([truncatedName length] > 20)
        truncatedName = [NSString stringWithFormat:@"%@...", [truncatedName substringToIndex:20]];
    myLabel.text = truncatedName;
