Question

I am trying to implement a text view which scrolls continuously.

But the text is not scrolling.
I want the text to be displayed in the following format:

This is the code that I have written.

This is my java code from where i am calling the text view is it the right way to call the text view?

            android:marqueeRepeatLimit="marquee_forever"
            android:scrollHorizontally="true"
            android:singleLine="true"
            android:text="Simple application that shows how to use marquee, with a long text"
            android:textColor="#ff4500" />

From Activity do this :

    TextView tv;

    tv = (TextView) findViewById(R.id.textId);
    tv.setSelected(true);
