i am trying to use an ASP conditional here: if (Request.Cookies(username)) and (Request.Cookies(password)) <>

i am trying to use an ASP conditional here:

if (Request.Cookies('username')) and (Request.Cookies('password')) <> '' Then 

And i keep getting this error:

Type mismatch: ‘[string: ”]’

Any ideas what I am getting that?
