Is your app delegate explicitly creating *window? If so, delete that line of code.

// self.window = [[UIWindow alloc] initWithFrame:[[UIScreen mainScreen] bounds]];

But keep the property definition:

@property (strong, nonatomic) UIWindow *window; // keep this
