I developed a small web app that uses Mysql 5.1 database, Hibernate 4 and Servlets and JSPs. I am using jboss 7.1.1 final to deploy the app to. I used eclipse to manage the project and deployment. Everything worked fine as long as I deployed to http://localhost:8080/TimeTracker But I wanted to try deploying to “/” instaed of /TimeTracker. So I disabled the welcome content in standalone.xml and added a jboss-web.xml in my WEB-INF directory. Here is my jboss-web.xml:

<jboss-web>
<context-root>/</context-root>
</jboss-web>

Here is my standalone.xml:

<?xml version='1.0' encoding='UTF-8'?>

I have not changed anything else. Now, I cannot deploy my war to jboss. I get the following error (This is actually a full console output):

Can you help me sort this out?

PS: Sorry for a very long question. I wanted to provide as much detail as I could.

Thanks.

    There is a problem with default-virtual-server definition.
    You have

    default-virtual-server="default-host"

    But you only have a virtual server defined as “localhost:

    virtual-server name="localhost"

    The two should be same. Try:

    <subsystem xmlns="urn:jboss:domain:web:1.1" default-virtual-server="default-host" native="false">
        <connector name="http" protocol="HTTP/1.1" scheme="http" socket-binding="http"/>
        <virtual-server name="default-host" enable-welcome-root="false">
            <alias name="localhost"/>
            <alias name="example.com"/>
        </virtual-server>
    </subsystem>
