I have a client program (uses javax API) which will download attachments from an email. Unfortunately the same is not able to download from a specific sender.

Here is the client code which will save attachments to local disc:

String contentType = part.getContentType();

Please suggest me a way to download attachment..

Below are my findings for the email that I am unable to download attachments:

  • ‘disp’ is null.
  • contentType is message/rfc822.

    I got a workaround for my problem.

    When disposition is null and Content-type is ‘MESSAGE/XXXX’, treating that as a new message and iterate over its content.

        addAttachment(mp.getBodyPart(i), fileNames, fileName);
    }
