    You can use setInterval to check the contents periodically, and act accordingly, for example:

    function innerHTMLChanged() {
        if$("#myDiv").html() != "Some HTML for comparison, perhaps the previous state?") {
            $("#myDiv").hide();
        } else {
            $("#myDiv").show();
        }
    }
    
    // fires every half a second
    setInterval(innerHTMLChanged, 500);
