I have a form that I’m trying to get data from a form using jquery and validate it. What is the best way to take data from a form to a variable using jquery?

Here is the snippet that you can use –

$('#myForm').submit(function() {
    // get all the inputs into an array.
    var $inputs = $('#myForm :input');

    // not sure if you wanted this, but I thought I'd add it.
    // get an associative array of just the values.
    var values = {};
    $inputs.each(function() {
        values[this.name] = $(this).val();
    });
