I have a question about Sql database in android.Now I”ve done the all Notepad tutorials from the Android Dev website and I wanted to go a little further by adding something new.I want to find a way to add notes in the program’s code “manually” so that when the Notepad application is open in the android emulator the notes are already there.And the user can have the chance to add new notes or edit/delete the already existed ones which I”ve placed “manually” in the code.I’m sory for any potential ambiguity and any help will be great.I”ve attached the 3 classes below.Thank you.

Notepad3 Class:

package com.android.demo.notepad3;

import android.app.ListActivity;
import android.content.Intent;
import android.database.Cursor;
import android.os.Bundle;
import android.view.ContextMenu;
import android.view.Menu;
import android.view.MenuItem;
import android.view.View;
import android.view.ContextMenu.ContextMenuInfo;
import android.widget.ListView;

import android.widget.SimpleCursorAdapter;
import android.widget.AdapterView.AdapterContextMenuInfo;

public class Notepadv3 extends ListActivity {
    private static final int ACTIVITY_CREATE=0;
    private static final int ACTIVITY_EDIT=1;

    private static final int INSERT_ID = Menu.FIRST;
    private static final int DELETE_ID = Menu.FIRST + 1;

    private NotesDbAdapter mDbHelper;

    /** Called when the activity is first created. */
    @Override
    public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) {
        super.onCreate(savedInstanceState);
        setContentView(R.layout.notes_list);
        mDbHelper = new NotesDbAdapter(this);
        mDbHelper.open();
        fillData();
        registerForContextMenu(getListView());

    }

    private void fillData() {
        Cursor notesCursor = mDbHelper.fetchAllNotes();
        startManagingCursor(notesCursor);

        // Create an array to specify the fields we want to display in the list (only TITLE)
        String[] from = new String[]{NotesDbAdapter.KEY_TITLE,NotesDbAdapter.KEY_BODY};

        // and an array of the fields we want to bind those fields to (in this case just text1)
        int[] to = new int[]{R.id.text1,R.id.text2};

        // Now create a simple cursor adapter and set it to display
        SimpleCursorAdapter notes =
            new SimpleCursorAdapter(this, R.layout.notes_row, notesCursor, from, to);
        setListAdapter(notes);
    }

    What you can do is add a method to your NotesDbAdapter.DatabaseHelper class:

    private void insertNotes(SQliteDatabase db){
        db.execSQL("insert into notes values(1,'note title', 'note body');");
    }

    You can then call this method from either onCreate or onUpgrade.

    If you think you’ll want to insert a bunch of notes, you can even just define a String array containing the sql statements and then just iterate over that array in insertNotes:

    private static final String[] DEFAULT_INSERTS = new String[] {
        "insert into notes values(1,'note title', 'note body');","insert into notes values(2,'note title2', 'note body2');"};

    private void insertNotes(SQliteDatabase db){
        for(int i =0; i < DEFAULT_INSERTS.length; i++){
            db.execSQL(DEFAULT_INSERTS[i]);
    }
        }

    Then your onCreate method can look like this:

     public void onCreate(SQLiteDatabase db) {
                db.execSQL(DATABASE_CREATE);
                insertNotes(db);
            }
