    So, in essence, you have to use the FB API to achieve what you want. Here is the example:

    $(document).ready(function()
    {
        window.fbAsyncInit = function() {
        FB.init({ status: true, cookie: true, xfbml: true });
        FB.Event.subscribe('edge.create', function(href, widget)
        {
            //Liked event - do something here
            $('#something').show();
        });
        };

        (function() {
        var e = document.createElement('script');
        e.type = 'text/javascript';
        e.src = document.location.protocol + '//connect.facebook.net/en_US/all.js';
        e.async = true;
        document.getElementById('fb-root').appendChild(e);
        }());

    });
