Question

I have an amazon Ec2 instance of mysql (rds). It has a database named locker. I can access it via from my terminal by following these steps from here.

I have configured my DataSource.groovy as :

But when I change the database from locker to testing(other database that I have created), everything goes fine and my grails app is running.

Why its not running in the first case?

For whatever reason, when your app connects, it is not able to “see” the “locker” database.:

Unknown database 'locker'

This is likely some sort of permissions issue within MySQL related to what databases the user you are connecting as has permissions to.

Of course, this assumes that the “locker” database does actually exist on the database you are connecting to, which (based on that connection string) is the MySQL server running on localhost, not an rds one.
