I have downloaded an open-source code ribbot. I am new to Ruby and Rails but I have set up my environment and was able to get this code to run on my local machine.

I wanted to use Heroku as my server base solution. I pushed this app to Heroku. Heroku seems to tell me that the app is running fine however I keep getting redirected to an error page via the open-source code; it doesn’t do so on my local machine. I suspect that it has something to do with Mongo. I have downloaded the add on MongoHQ for Heroku and am still experiencing this problem. I do know that this code uses mongoid:

If you’ve installed the MongoHQ add-on in Heroku, it creates a MONGOHQ_URL environment variable which your Rails app can use to connect to the database. Looks like your config/mongoid.yml isn’t configured properly. Here’s a working example for Heroku & MongoHQ:

    development:
        host: localhost
        database: yourapp_dev

    test:
       host: localhost
       database: yourapp_test

    # set these environment variables on your prod server
    production:
        uri: <%= ENV['MONGOHQ_URL'] %>

    Hope this helps!
