i have little problem with if { string nom; string ou; nom = 1;

i have little problem with if

{     string nom;     string ou;     nom = '1';     if (nom == '1')     {         nom +=1;         ou = nom;     }     Console.Write(ou); }

but i cant print ou value i dont know why
