    Don’t use android:theme="@style/Theme.Sherlock".

    Use setTheme(R.style.Theme_Sherlock); inside OnCreate.

    E.g.

    @Override
    public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) {
        setTheme(R.style.Theme_Sherlock);
        super.onCreate(savedInstanceState);
    
        // What you want to do here
    }
