I have recently added a new project to Git using Eclipse, but do not see the project appear in my GitHub account.

Why do they have the same account information and different repositories?

Isn’t Git and GitHub the same thing?

Git is a revision control system, a tool to manage your source code history.

GitHub is a hosting service for Git repositories.
