I have successfully installed “Solr 3.6” over “Tomcat” (inside a folder under C:\ I have 2 subfolders: tomcat-“tomcat” installation and solr-“solr” home). I have copied the solr folder from the “examples”. Then I tried to index data from database. The indexing was successful. But I have a serious problem. I cannot make a proper query.
What I can do are:

1) //localhost:8080/solr/select/?q=*:*

2) //localhost:8080/solr/select/?q=*singleword*

What I cannot do are:

1) //localhost:8080/solr/select/?q=*word1+word2+word3*

2) //localhost:8080/solr/select/?q=singleword

3) //localhost:8080/solr/select/?q=word1+word2+word3

What kind of configuration I have to make in”solr” in order to make things working(normal queries without wildcards)?
I am very confused with this.

Thank you in advance,

Tom

    Typically the disMax query handler is used to handle queries that do not specify particular fields. I’m guessing that you can do queries like

    //localhost:8080/solr/select/?q=field1:singleword

    if you have a field named field1.

    Start here and check your solrconfig.xml file to see how your default requestHandler is configured.
