I need to convert <input type=text value=1 class=simpleCart_input> to plain text. Like I need

I need to convert <input type="text" value="1" class="simpleCart_input"> to plain text.

Like I need it to be something like

<span class="simpleCart_input">1</span>

But how?

    You can use replaceWith.

    $('.simpleCart_input').replaceWith(function(){
   return '<span class='+this.className+'>'+this.value+'</span>'
})

    return $('<span/>', {
              'class': this.className,
               text: this.value
