   List<GroupPrincipal> result = new List<GroupPrincipal>();

   PrincipalContext MyDomain = new PrincipalContext(ContextType.Domain);

   if(user != null)
   {
      PrincipalSearchResult<Principal> groups = user.GetAuthorizationGroups();

      {
         // make sure to add only group principals

   }

but on this line ( user.GetAuthorizationGroups() ) I got an exception
