    The value of method is a String to specify the request method HttpConnection.GET or HttpConnection.POST.

    You have to specify it like:

    c.setRequestProperty("method", HttpConnection.GET);

    or

    c.setRequestProperty("method", HttpConnection.POST);

    You can use c.setRequestMethod() instead.
