I want to wrap some html elements for gmail address in a given string. How can i do it with php regex.

Input

$string = 'Sample text [e-mail] another text [e-mail],[e-mail]';

Output I want

$string = "Sample text <div class='gmail'>[e-mail]</div> another text <div class='gmail'>[e-mail]</div>,[e-mail]";

Try something like (wraps all email adresses):

$string = 'Sample text [e-mail] another text [e-mail],[e-mail]';
echo preg_replace("/([\._a-zA-Z0-9-]+@[\._a-zA-Z0-9-])+/i", "<div class='gmail'>$1</div>", $string);

Gmail only:

$string = 'Sample text [e-mail] another text [e-mail],[e-mail]';
echo preg_replace("/([\._a-zA-Z0-9-][e-mail])+/i", "<div class='gmail'>$1</div>", $string);
