    The Python built-in int() function converts strings to integers:

    >>> int('5')
    5

    However, 'C' is not a (decimal) integer and will throw an error from int():

    >>> int('C')
    Traceback (most recent call last):
      File "<stdin>", line 1, in <module>
    ValueError: invalid literal for int() with base 10: 'C'
