    you can use pure java code to get this

        SimpleDateFormat sdf = new SimpleDateFormat("EEE MMM d hh:mm:ss Z yyyy");
        Date date = sdf.parse(input);
        sdf = new SimpleDateFormat("MMM d");
        System.out.println(sdf.format(date));
    

    OUTPUT: Jun 22
