im having a null pointer error. i tried making the button print by System.out.print and it works. i really dont know what’s wrong. it’s my first post too so sorry for any mistakes. here’s the code:

This line is creating a local copy of JTextField
Make it
(so that your tfield member is instantiated), and everything should be good 🙂
