I’m looking into the Twitter JSONP api and I was wondering if it is possible to get a “random” tweet out of the entire timeline. Any ideas?

Not easily.
Twitter IDs use Snowflake – a roughly ordered 64 bit number. So, you could generate a random 64 bit number and hope that it’s the ID of a valid tweet, it’s not very reliable.
You could use the Public Timeline to get the 20 most recent tweets.
Sorry.
