    PHP uses $this as a reference to the instance:

    class CrowdProcess
{
    public $variable;

    public function __construct($variable)
    {
        $this->variable = $variable;
    }

    public function otherfunc()
    {
        echo $this->variable, PHP_EOL;
    }
}
