Is it possible to add to a default time with NOW(), 10 minutes?

CREATE TABLE `table1` (
`date` DATETIME NOT NULL DEFAULT DATE_ADD(NOW(), INTERVAL 10 MINUTE)
);
However, it doesn’t work.
