Question

Is it possible to call a php function on jquery ajax call.When i tried to do this i get function not defined error on php function

 $.ajax({
        type:"POST",
        url:"x.php?z=" + id,
        cache:false,
        success: function(data)
        {

          <?php xcz();  ?>
        }
    });
