    Why not just add an OnValueChangeListener Something like:

    numberPicker.setOnValueChangedListener(new NumberPicker.OnValueChangeListener() {
    
         @Override
         public void onValueChange(NumberPicker picker, int oldVal, int newVal) {
             picker.setValue((newVal < oldVal)?oldVal-5:oldVal+5);
         }
    
    });
