    Here’s one solution when using querybuilder, using manual injection of the index by clause –

    (do you querybuilder statement)
    $q  = $q->getQuery()->setDQL(str_replace('WHERE', 'INDEX BY yourIndexValue WHERE', $q->getDQL()));
    

    This seems to work for me…
