    threadId should be the id of the SMS/MMS thread you want to view

    Intent defineIntent = new Intent(Intent.ACTION_VIEW); 
defineIntent.setData(Uri.parse("content://mms-sms/conversations/"+threadId));  
myActivity.startActivity(defineIntent);

    This is the simplest way I found
