Is there anyway in CSS to have background image appended as an additional background

Is there anyway in CSS to have background image “appended” as an additional background image to a DIV rather than “setting” it as a value (i.e. replacing the already existing one).

    Really doing that and not setting them on pseudo-elements (DEMO)/ children/ of the element having the same size and stacked on top of the element?

    NO.

    Same thing goes for box-shadow, transition & others. It is possible that things will change in the future (see this article), but for now… the answer to this question is still no.
