    Application.Caller will give you a reference to the cell, from which you can get the column. E.g.

    Public Function COL()
    Select Case TypeName(Application.Caller)
    Case "Range"
       COL = Application.Caller.Column
    Case Else
       COL = "unknown"
    End Select
End Function
