I’ve got an asp.net webservice and only one server. If I use Membership.GetUSer(…) on a user that does not exist, it fails to get the user (as expected) then crashes trying to access the SQLMembershipProvider..

Here is the exception

Anyone have an idea why it’s hitting the SQL Membership provider. It’s not mentioned in the Web.config anywhere, and its Web.config is all but identical to ones that don’t have this issue.

    Turned out to be a weird issue with Blue Coat Jacking up the packets(We think), once we added a blue coat exclusion for the boxes involved, all was good.
