    This is one of the most common scala typos.

    You’re missing the = at the end of your method:

    def findMax (tempratures: List[Int]) {
    

    Should read:

    def findMax (tempratures: List[Int]) = {
    

    Leaving the = off means that your method returns Unit (nothing).
